Caring for your Flax & Stitch products
Find your product below for its material and care instructions. Most items are machine washable — check your category for the right temperature.
Material
Independently tested food-safe PUL (Celabor, Belgium). PVC-free. KAM snap closure (2 snaps on Small, 3 snaps on all other sizes).
Care
Machine washable up to 60°C, with no delamination — tested in-house. Fold flat and air dry. Tumble drying has also tested fine, though air drying is what we recommend day to day.

If a seam needs attention or the velcro wears out, the Flax & Stitch Repair Clinic can help — no need to replace the bag.
Material
Double-layer certified cotton — Oeko-Tex or Bio certified exterior, with an untreated, unbleached bio cotton lining, well suited to dry foods like bread. Closes with a simple drawstring.
Care
Machine washable up to 60°C. Wash regularly, or at a lower temperature with a normal load.
Important notes
Breathable fabric — keeps crusts crisp and avoids the sogginess that comes with plastic bags. No zip, no plastic clasp.
Material
Waterproof, food-safe EVA — tested to EU food-contact migration limits (2J Tex, France). PVC-free, phthalate-free, REACH compliant. Finished with a cotton bias trim (Liberty print or plain colour). Elastic edge stretches to fit a range of shapes, including rectangular dishes.
Care
Machine washable up to 40°C, or dishwasher-safe.
Important notes
The XL size also works as a shower cap — same care instructions apply.

Three fabric pairings available: smooth cotton + soft bamboo, cotton towelling + soft minky, or textured cotton waffle towelling + soft bamboo.

Four ways to refresh, whichever fits your routine: washing machine up to 60°C with a normal load; dishwasher (cutlery drawer or top rack, any cycle); boiling for a few minutes; or microwave (wet the cloth, then 60 seconds). Wring out and air dry after washing.
Important notes
A well-cared-for cloth typically lasts 9–12 months of regular use; at end of life it’s compostable in 6–8 weeks, or recyclable with cardboard.

Care
Shake and air out regularly. Outer cover machine washable up to 60°C. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals.
Important notes
For warmth: microwave up to 2 minutes at 750W, or oven 8–10 minutes at 80°C / 3–5 minutes at 100°C, or leave on a radiator or towel warmer until comfortably warm.
For cooling: freeze for 30–45 minutes inside a freezer bag (a Flaxie Freeze works well).

A blend of merino wool, nylon, and Lycra spandex — exact percentages vary by model (e.g. the Hiker Micro Crew is 61% merino, 38% nylon, 3% Lycra). Made in Vermont, USA.
Care
Turn socks inside out before washing. Wash in cold water on the gentle cycle, with a mild, neutral-pH detergent. Tumble dry on low, or air dry.
Important notes
